George Loney Award
The George Loney Award for the Most Improved Junior Curler in the U18 and U12 age groups is sponsored by the Loney family and the Monday Morning Sr. Men League. This award is given to the junior curlers that have shown the largest improvement in the following categories over the course of the season:
- Set-up and Balance – proper hack position, sequence of motion and balance during the slide.
- Line of Delivery, release and rotation - proper aim at the broom and includes consistent rock rotation and a positive release.
- Shot execution - throwing the weight (draws or takeouts) that was asked for by the skip or coaches combined with proper line of delivery to make the shot.
- Sweeping technique - using the teaching techniques while sweeping teammates rock, being able to judge weight while sweeping.
- Sportsmanship – includes, but not limited to, listening to the skips shot calls, quick pace of play, supporting teammates, praising opponents' good shots, proper curling etiquette, gracious wins and losses.
Scoring for these categories will be completed by the athletes and their coaches then tallied for the overall winner.

Bottle drive for new floor
Drop off your empty bottles and cans at the club. Proceeds will be put towards our new ice pad.
There will be a number of days set aside to collect your empties throughout 2023 and 2024. Please save the following dates along with your returnable cans and bottles.
- Sunday, April 21, 2pm to 4pm
- Sunday, May 26, 2pm to 4pm
- Sunday, June 23, 2pm to 4pm
We will be looking for volunteers for these events, so please watch for the emails and sign-up to get your volunteer hours for 2023/24 season!
